Tell me, what was the way Apple talked up their glass? Equivalent to sapphire crystal? Super scratch resistant?

Now tell me how they will explain how my phone has scratches on it already. Right on the bottom left corner of the back of the device there are a few little scratches that can be felt with a fingernail.

I find this ridiculous. Anybody else having this issue?

Well I usually dont complain about "scratches". I know prior that anything made from glass, plastics, and weak metals is going to scratch and break.

Honestly, the only thing that bothers me is Apple being so confident in their glass, making a case only for the sides, and then not even selling any type of protection in stores besides their bumpers.

I was even going to buy the Invisible Shield but I figured since Apple was so confident, I should be fine.

Companies always advertise the best results in controlled test. The advertised strength and scratch resistance is not going to be the same in the open uncontrolled environment

If we start hearing widespread (and I mean widespread as in with lots of regular consumers breaking/scratching the screen noticeably, instead of tech blogs who profit from hyping something) then I will agree that Apple failed with the screen (which doesn't seem to be the problem. It continues to be the back).

While the bumper goes around the side, the small lip on the top and bottom protects them as long as it's dropped on a flat surface. If dropped on something bumpy, like a rock, it could still break.

I've done everything I could to keep it perfect. I see two scratches on the back, and in the light, there are two in the front UNDER the screen. Like seriously?
