Posted yesterday on Mashable.com was an article saying that Apple has applied for a patent to disable jailbroken iPhones. While they currently only revoke all warranty should you be caught with a jailbroken iDevice, this could lead to things much more serious.
Apple claims their main goal in this patent is also to protect against device theft and they will likely use that has an excuse for their actions should this patent be approved. Recently jailbreaking was found to be legal so this patent will probably never see the light of day. Either way, it's something to think about..

I went looking through the forum for something about this, guess I missed it. Either way, that's a different article. I'm sure it's the same information though.

Chill, thought I had found something interesting. Guess not. Whatever mod sees this first can close/delete the thread if they want. The article I found was written 1 day ago so I assumed it was new information.

It was published two days ago on redmondpie. Also, Apple already thought of doing this a long time ago. There was an article on it a while back, but recently they have filed the actual patent.
