Apple Exploring Alternative Pinch-to-Zoom Methods

I agree, I hope it's just an enhancement and not a replacement. It would be annoying trying to control zooming by putting you face closer and further away from the screen. Imagine doing a drawing and trying to change the colour of particular pixels, your face would be pressed up on the screen.

Its a motion on Android already...

I can just imagine seeing people in public places holding their iphones really close to their face...oh wait, they already do. iPads FTW!

I generally keep my phone the exact same distance from my face so I don't see this 'Just working' for me, but I'd be fine with then including it if there was an option to disable if unwanted.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

My guess is Apple's just taking this so nobody else can have it.
I don't believe they would ever implement this.
