If its not that hard then why did it take them 13 years?

Apple only really began developing, might I say, noteworthy products (in my opinion), since around 2006. So...after six years of "real" customer growth, I'd say it took no time at all.

Microsoft is doing great things. They are offering tablets and an OS to go on everything...but it's not the way I would do it.

So would you prefer it if Samsung, Acer, HP and all the other PC makers each had their own OS for their computers?

Each device needs to be unique to the user. That is what Apple has done. Macs run OSx Mountain Lion. iOS is a wonderful alternative.

I mean...imagine if for three meals a day for 365 days in a year all you ate was PB&J sandwiches. That is how I feel Windows 8 is. They just need a unique desktop and an alternative Mobile OS, not the same thing on both.

Companies should NOT make their own OS's. Because they don't, they offer Bloat-ware/Crap-ware/etc. Extra programs that just bog your computer down. They all have their special programs to make their computer feel unique, but all it does is slow the system and change the OS experience from what it was intended to be.

So this makes Apple the most valuable company in the history of mankind?
