So, I was doing my search of iPod Touch news, and then this pops up: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-20014356-37.html By the time the firmware comes out for the iPod Touch 4 the stock firmware will detect jailbroken devices, and will wipe the devices of the jailbreak. I put this in the iPod 4th generation because, this feature will most likely appear in the stock firmware so to all of you who love to Jailbreak get ready to have Apple hounding you about it. It's a shame they must interfere with our personal devices, this can also sense heartbeat. What do you think of this new security measure?

It's a patent. Apple has registered several, most of them never used.

    What is this nonsense?

A patent to kill the devices? I'm sure it'll get turned down. Basically every iPod Touch/iPhone user I know out there has their devices jailbroken, and this will just kill* Apple.

*Not literally, but it would deter a lot of people from getting the devices.

Apple's just mad because people jailbroke their iDevices at the Apple Stores.

Well, Apple has been pretty pissed since the courts ruling making the jailbreak of devices legal.

In this case custom firmware would work, no?
