    Well, fairly simple question...

    Scenario:

A while back, i restored my iPhone, and let the music copy normally. I noticed that the screen wasn't on, even though itunes was syncing music (No "Sync in Progress" screen). Out of curiosity, i unlocked my phone and iTunes kept syncing music onto my phone, and i was able to use it at the same time. Today (Just now) i had the same thing happen again.

Now, keep in mind that i describe "use phone" as ACTUALLY USING THE PHONE. I sent a few text's, and even played a game out of curiosity. Is this just an iTunes bug and has anyone else experienced this?

Keep in mind that i don't try to replicate this, and that if this bug abuse of any sort, just let me know so i can delete this!

I've had this happen once or twice, but I think that the USB port was defected. I'm not too sure, so wait until the more experienced users reply.

This also happened to me with iPod touch ones with 1.1.4(!)and it's 99% random bug.

Anyway "Sync in Progress" lock prevent risk of any data damage due data edition from 2 sources, it's most simple solution (Apple could try harder

What if you need to make an emergency call and it is syncing? Seems like they should allow phone used while syncing.

Yeah, I've had this happen to me a few times. It's just a bug that will occur once in a while under certain circumstances.

This why theres sync canceling option on side of device

Besides what is more impotent in time of emergency, your life or guarantee that data (music etc.) of phone won't be lost? When you disconnect USB it will turn off syncing (i guess never tried

Usually if my phone is syncing and I get a call, it stops syncing and resumes after I hang up. But if music is playing on it and it begins to sync, the music just fades out.
