The only one I found is mplayer but most people said that it plays avi files in slow motion but those threads were a couple months old so I'm wondering if its been updated to play them better or if there is another app that can play avi files?

    Thanks in advace!

Possibly the most pointless comment ever. Obviously the whole point of the question is so that he doesn't have to convert it. That's like the question being "I want to get from A to B without having to go through C" and your answer being "Just go through C".

I don't know any other way bar mplayer, but I'll install it on my 3GS and see if it is any faster than my touch.

  8. yxflash plays AVI and WMV in acceptable quality

I have the newest version of yxflash (you have to purchase it and activate it with a code that only works with your device's UDID).

I tested it with both WMV and AVI files. It works though a LITTLE bit slowly (still acceptable) at times. Sound can be choppy every now and then but mostly everything works flawlessly.

My opinion: Not (yet) perfect, but by now the best solution to play AVIs or WMVs which you have obtained via DL Plugin and which you weren't able to convert (no computer available).

vlc4iphone did not really work out for me: Most of the time only sound, no video. Choppy performance and non-responsive controls
