I have a couple apps like a RSS reader, gmail, weather, nhl stats and some other stuff that uses wifi to update/use.

Sometimes when i head out in the morning or in a hurry I don't want to have to open each of these apps one by one and let them update so I can view them offline on the bus.

Is there some sort of app or process I can use to automate the updating of each app or selected apps?

just use widgets to show all of them, they auto-refresh every hour (or whenever you tell them to),
    thats what i do.

    (if ur jailbroken)

Unfortunately, as of yet, there is no way. It would require background processing, which is not allowed by Apple. It may work with Backgroundr, a jailbroken application, though.
