doesnt it make stuff seem so much more [official] when you wrap brackets around it?

    Ok, so app idea.
we iPoT users have no app like text do we?
the closest thing we have is an instant massager client that we have to keep open until we get a message. We need an app like text. We need popups when we get new IMs so we can do other things while waiting for people to IM us.

Im thinking a simple massager client that supports aim, icq, and msn.
It should be able to run in the background, and have an alert popup every time the user receives an IM. The popup should have a 2 or 3 line preview of the message, and the option to close the popup, or to view the IM in the massager client. I think gui is unimportant though, the faster the thing is, the better.

does anybody else think it'd be a good app? or is that just me?
feel free to post suggestions, and ill update this post with them.

add it to your list kiks.

a massager is great for those akey muscles lol

but it would have to be for jailbreak seeing as how apple's sdk restricts background processes. And i truely dont think someone would make an IM client just for jailbreak since they can sell it in the app store. (just my opinion, still could happen, but i wouldn't bet on it soon)

best thing to do is wait until apple releases the push notification system apple was supposed to reveal a few months back but never did.

true but why would you put another im cleint in the app store?
what could you do to make it better other than ui changes?

itd just be the same as the other ones.

to me push support is a little extravagant wouldn't you say? I would get around 50 emails from leaving the room. not my cup of tea

The badge would be useless if you were in another application.
Beejive + Backgroundr + Status Bar Notification, ftw.
It's annoying though, if you are using Safari or Youtube or something else using lots of memory, Beejive will be unloaded and you'll have to load it up again.

I could see that but you might want to add in yahoo and gmail to be fair...lol. But also what I'm wondering is what happened to agile messenger because I would use that over any of the crap on the appstore today that was the only messenger I have used that doesn't freeze up and crash randomly.......
