i was using my friends touch and he had an application that grouped all of his apps into faux-folders so his main home screen was less cluttered, and when he chose one i would bring up a sub screen with the apps. Im not sure what its called though. any ideas?

    The app is called Catagories.

Here is a screenshot of my springboard. Notice the icon labeled "Games" at the lower right part of the screen.

It's in the "BigBoss's Apps and Things" source. Install the "BigBoss's New Community" from the Sources folder and the the "Catagories" app should show up in the "Utilities" folder.

Thanks, got it all set up and everything.

Also, do you know how to add the camera roll to the ipod touch?

Are you talking about the Dock app? I use Dock to take screenshots for my iPot, but I don't know if that is what you are talking about.

No, like on the iPhone when you go to photos, it has something called the camera roll where taken pictures go. But, wallpaper.app saves pictures to there on the touch and iphone, so I want to be able to view them on my touch. I know where to find it in winSCP or something if I have to, but its not the same as being able to see it immediately right there on the touch.

you can create the camera roll folder (or its done automatically when you take a screenshot with dock) but you cannot view those pictures in photos.
