When trying to download any apps or update an app it goes to the springboard but the progress bar stays still and NEVER moves. When I try to delete the app it does not come up with an x next to the icon because it is not technically installed. I am connected to WIFI and safari and everything else works. I have to connect to iTunes for it to download. It is ALWAYS asking for my itunes password on my ipod because i guess it is trying to retry. This has happened every since I upgraded to 2.2. I am JB. If I try to update an app on itouch and then go to PC to try it, iTunes gives me error "0xE800002E" Is there a file I can delete trough SSH to get it to rebuild something? Rebooting does nothing to fix this. Please help!! Thanks in advance!

That works if it is a new app but if it is an update to an app it comes up with that error!

this is the exact same problem i have
    and its very curable
    just install SBsettings
and then use the respring feature
resetting the springboard fixes the app, as it DOES download
you just can't tell it has
annoying as it is, its not a huge problem

That is what I tried but it did not work. I looked in SSH and a folder for the app does not show up. I looked through all of them so it really is not installing it. Is there a file I can rebuild to reset the app store or springboard downloading or something? The only way I can install apps is to use iTunes.

I have the same thing. If you got an update, first delete the app on your SpringBoard than install the app from the App Store. That's way faster.

Doesn't this occur with people that have a cracked mobile installation for 2.1 on a 2.2 device...

    That could be your problem...
