I have a iPhone on 1.1.3 and since I always have Internet I need a IM client, not a web one.

So I tried to search for help trying to fix either one of these 2 apps but nothing works. Chat says that loading bar and doesn't go away, and Apollo says "Unable to Authencate" or something like that. So I'm just trying to look for something for either of these apps doesn't matter.

I searched trying to SSH a edited plist for Apollo and manually installing Chat

So any help would be great thanks.

Apollo doesn't work on 1.1.3. I know next to nothing about mobilechat, but from what your saying it doesn't look good. I'm not sure if there currently is a working IM client for 1.1.3.

Try this updated host file that I got from Apollo's googlepage when it was still availible. I am using it on my Ipod Touch right now and it works wonderfully. I had to update my host file too because it wouldn't authenticate for me. Just copy the file into the Apollo folder in Applications.

Go to /etc and find a file named hosts. SSH into your iPod and edit this file to say this:

    ##
    # Host Database
    #
    # localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
    # when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.
    ##
    127.0.0.1 localhost
    255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
    ::1 localhost
    64.12.161.185 login.oscar.aol.com
    65.54.179.216 nexus.passport.com
    65.54.183.203 login.live.com

    65.54.239.20 messenger.hotmail.com
    65.54.239.21 gateway.messenger.hotmail.com

    65.54.179.193 loginnet.passport.com

Your Apollo will work after that. Guaranteed.
