So is any one of you lucky people that already has one willing to take it apart and take pictures of the internals for the rest of us?

I've been reading that too. i highly doubt Apple would include a chip with both wifi and BT. even though they want to do the whole 100$ difference between the iphone, isn't not having a phone function and a camera enough?

I agree with that but i guess they didnt see a point in keeping BT in an "iPod" (remember that it's still an iPod), just like we dont have BT in any other iPod.

But at the same time, how useful would bluetooth be? It's too slow for syncing (might as well hack wifi to do that...) and headsets or earphones would die quickly. It's definetely not a dissapointment. Not that I would be unhappy had they included it, but still...

I agree. I honestly don't mind Bluetooth being excluded. I probably wouldn't use the Bluetooth even if it did have it.

Bluetooth is NOT too slow for syncing. Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR (on iPhone) is specced at 3.0 mbps. That's not anywhere near USB 2.0 (480 mbps), but it's fast enought for syncing single songs/podcasts. An average song according to apple is about 32 Megabits (4 MB), That's a little more than 10 seconds per song, which isn't unreasonable. You wouldn't want to fill up your iPod with this, but it would be good for transferring a few songs back to your computer purchased on iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store. I'd like the feature. Wouldn't you?
