    My iPod is refurbished. I am not sure whether or not the screen was used, but it definitely looked brand new when I got the iPod. As far as I could tell, everything was completely new.

    Refurbs are used hardware and screen with a new outer shell and battery... which is why everyone says theirs looks like new.

    I think the insides are used, the casing is new. So (maybe), the screen under the glass is used, but the glass itself is new.

    sometimes it is and soemtimes it is not...depends on condition...
    refurbs are just devices which have been returned and then tested intensively by apple.
    and if an error occurs due testing they replace/fix it up and then it is a "refurbished" one.
    so yeah your screen might be used (like mine)

    //EDIT:
    and some people just return their devices still in the original package (but of course already opened) then your screen/parts are not used in your "refurbished"
