Mods, lock thread if it has been mentioned before, but anyways:
Yes, as of what we know right now, 2.0 won't have installer. If/when we do, games will start coming back, but not of the same quality as for example touch fighter, so those might seem obsolete. However, once we do jailbreak it, we will have access to games MADE for the ipod touch by professional developers. We can look at these games, learn how to make things run better, and actually use the games in the SDK to help optimize our free games from installer.

LOL I don't think people realize the caliber of the game Spore. No "Joe Blow" is going to just "come up with" a free one. IF a Joe Blow COULD ever conceivably make a game like Spore, with all the years of development it would take a/ the iPod Touch will be old news, and b/ He'd NEVER in a gajillion years, give it out for free.

Don't get me wrong, the free games etc will get better, but not to the point of years of work with a development team of professionals that do this for a living.

FYI, Spore has been in development for over 6 years.
    PORTED in 2 weeks.

And a "look alike" will have no hold over the pay version, I think what intrigues most people is the online factor, and interacting from a MAC OS version with a DS version and Wii versions.... etc.

I think that the people who are developing apps for the SDK are taking ideas from the devs who make apps for Installer, but the devs will take ideas back once games are released.

Isn't this kind of easy though: Any firmware can now be jailbroken in a couple of weeks (pwnage tool)
    Jailbreaking will automatically add SSH.
We can SSH and see the apps we get from the app store.
We can download them to our PC.
Devs can duplicate them for Installer.app!

Yeah really, that's the simplest solution. I can't wait until people duplicate them.

    LMFAO yeah, it's THAT easy!

    LOL
Sometimes I think people forget about very common sense on these boards.
