Hide "Photos" using Poof. You can then launch it with Dock, Launcher, or however you choose.

EDIT: For firmwares 1.1.1/2, use Customize to hide "MobileSlideShow".

you can use poof on fw 1.1.3/1.1.4, or customize 1.2 on older firmwares. you can aloso use hidepod, or appreveal in extended preferences (look up how to use appreveal - you muust add code to the info.plist of the application, but since its an apple-made app you must first convert it. its really easy, a website does it for you. just search)

use hidepod. you can hide the photo icon and then log into hidepod with a password to start the photo app. i still use 1.0, don't know if it still works with a newer version without registering..

Customize is the easiest way. Open it up and tap Manual Reorder, then tap the EYE icon, then choose photos
