Since I run a router at school, and don't run statics (they tend to screw things up for some reason), I usually just pop open the Netgear page to see what IP's my router's DHCP has given my different machines.

However, the iPod shows up with no network ID at all, and I've pretty much had to memorize the first couple of character's in it's MAC address to figure out which it is. Seeing as my network has 10+ IPs it's giving out at a time, it's a little hard to find it sometimes.

Any way to give it a network name?

why don't you set the lease time for the dhcp addresses to 30 or 90 days? And on some routers, like my netgear-g I can reserve an address for a certain mac address... That way, youll always have the same ip. Other than that, unless you run your own name server, your screwed.
