I'm pretty sure iTunes would save everything, but I'm not certain. Anyone confirm this?

Yes, I can confirm that iTunes saves everything. My iPod had to be replaced so I just plugged it in, and it synced all my songs, movies, apps, etc. Back onto my iPod.

go to My Music>iTunes>Mobile Applications>and there is the api file for each app and game...copy those files to another folder so if you lose them then you can just recopy the files

this guy has no idea what he is talking about btw. the progress files are stored on the ipod so how would copying a computer file solve anything?

anyways you will have to ssh into your ipod and copy the files in the Documents subfolder of each separate application's chroot jail.
