It'll probably be a good month after ICS is released before we see a stable ish build, but that would give you time to find an HD2, hahaha. By the way, I recommend asking the person you're buying from to call Tmobile and get the unlock code for you [ so you could use Simple Mobile or something else ]. Unlike ATT, on Tmobile you have to be the original owner to obtain the unlock code, otherwise you could do it yourself [ or pay a phone shop $20+ to rip you off and do it for you ]
The HD2 is an awesome device because you can dual-boot Windows Phone 7 and Android! EPIC! How do you like WP7, anyways? Better than Android?
WP7 isn't bad at all. It was definitely a big step up from Winmo 6.5. It's not really to my taste though. I would dual boot, except that if you dual boot WP7 + Android, you have to have Android on the SD card, which I prefer on the NAND because it's much faster with the Sense ROMs I like. If you could run WP7 from SD I surely would, but you can't so I stick with Android for now. I'm also eagerly awaiting a released version of the Meego port for HD2
Even though I haven't used a WP7 device before, I have seen videos on it. It seemed a bit "boring" IMO. Not much customization. I love Android because of the customization it offers, and the freedom that comes with it. It's great! P.S: I suggest you try a MIUI ROM one day. I'm using Android 4.0.1 MIUI on my Galaxy S II and it's by far the best ROM - the best phone - I've ever touched.
Oh, I've used MIUI the majority of my time using Android. From the laggy kinda crappy ports on the Droid 1 to a great experience on the Nexus 1 and HD2, I've been a pretty loyal MIUI user. I love having themes, wallpapers, lockscreens, etc all available right there in the themes app, it would be cool if Winterboard worked that way too. I'm currently using a Sense 3 ROM as my main driver, but I have MIUI on my SD card for when I want it !
When I was in the market for a new phone I completely passed up this phone. I have no interest in Windows Phone 7
HD7's are getting cheap if you want the "real" thing. Its (natively) a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone ( super shudder), it didn't even officially get WP7 because it has 1 more button than Microsoft thinks is necessary for WP7.
I would buy one of those if it became the next HD2, OS option-wise. Id have to pay for an imported one though
