Anyone heard of any 3G iPhone news in Australia? How much will the 8GB & 16GB 3G iPhones cost in Australia?

The 8GB will cost ~$250 and will only be available in black.
The 16GB will cost ~$320 and will be available in black and white. (back)

All prices are in AU dollars.. (Obviously)

    Released 11 July.

If you check out the Apple Australia site the iPhone has infected the whole damn thing and you can read up a tiny bit on localised info.

But if you check out the carriers it's quite disturbing to note the absence of Telstra from the list.

    Thanks.

    1) Does New Zealand use the Australian dollar?
    2) Since Vodafone's covering Australia, do you think the 3G iPhone is the same price in New Zealand as Vodafone is also covering?

    EDIT:

    1) nope, figured it out, nzd.
    2) figured out nz pricing for iphone 3g.

Im from Melbourne, Aus too. Maybe y'all can help then. Im trying to decide, if i get an iPhone, who to go with Vodafone or Optus? I wish they'd put out plans already but I guess they will mainly be the same prices..etc

The_Judas_Priest: are you the same Judas Priest from AU PlayStation Forums? lol

    the pricing and
plans for the iPhone will by released by optus and vodafone around 2 weeks before july 11. According to todays smh it will be available on both contract and prepaid. I wouldn't mind paying $400 for the iphone on prepaid

If the new iPhone is going to be that price then I wouldnt mind getting one on prepaid, what is weird is that the 16gig ipod touch is more exspensive then the 3g iPhone.
