Any idea how long this thing will take until it can be jailbroken?

As far as I know, the 1g took like a month, and the 2g took like 6 before somebody jailbroke it. How long will this take, if at all? (apple might have found out how to block jailbreaking) this is the thing that will decide weather I buy a 3g or stick with my jailbroken 2g.

The 2g only took so long because the iPhone Dev Team was looking for an unlock for the 3G before anything else.

it will probably take a while if 3.1 is released with the new iPods bcuz then they have to find the jb and unlock the other iDevices (iPod Touch 1G,2G,iPhone 2G,3G,3GS) (ONLY iPhone for unlock LOL u never now if there is a new person looking at this post)

I have not jail broken because I have heard that is unreliable compared to being in the jail. maybe if I see someone's really cool JB ipod I might JB mine, but not for now.

I'll probably get it once the jailbreak was out. I was getting to impatient when the 2g jailbreak was about to come out. But i'd say 3-5 months... idk.

Might be virtually instantly (24kpwn as in 3Gs) or much longer. Best to wait patiently (and quietly) till it comes

    Do it.

Just look around these forums, you will find plenty of reason...

You guys all forgot that once a device is jailbroken its pwned for life? So they shouldn'y take long at all.

Dev Team said that at 2G jailbreak. But idk how true it is for the 3GS.

It all depends on the security they've put into the device. If the production was started at the same time as the 3GS, which it possibly could have, then the 24kpwn exploit could still be present but with a few safeguards, like the 3GS. If they took the time to open up the assembly lines again after the 3GS then maybe it will have different hardware and new security.

My bet is on the 24kpwn.

Only time will tell... Hope it doesn't take too much.
