I am trying to update to 1.1.4, and I cannot, due to a 1604 error. I stuck my iPod touch into DFU mode in ziPhone, and now when I connect to iTunes I have to restore, but when I go to restore, it won't let me, another 1604 error.

In ziPhone, you can boot into normal mode, but when I do, and connect it back into iTunes, my iPod boots back up into DFU mode.

    What can I do?

What version of iTunes are you using? Apple says that this error occurs with 7.4.3 and earlier.

    iTunes 7.6.2..
It says I'm up to date.

EDIT: It gets to "Preparing iPod for Restore" then gives me the error.

Try a different USB port, and if that doesn't work, have you tried forcing it into DFU mode and restoring that way? (I don't know what you've tried, so I'm just throwing out some suggestions)

Doesn't he have to downgrade his iTunes to 7.5?

I'm trying to restore on a new computer right now, let's see if that works.
