hey do you guys know of any good rappers/hip-hop artists that are not from the hood, because I have a friend that is a good rapper but doesn't think he will get a good record deal because he isn't from the hood.

That's such a funny way to phrase it. But anywho.

Does he have anything we (I) can listen to? And if he knows hip hop, he'd know that that has nothing to do with whether or not he has talent. Some of the best of the best rappers today don't have a deal, or are with small labels.

And the big artists are persuaded by the big record guys to sound tougher than they really are and promote tough and macho gun toting bullsh*t.

So maybe he may have a tough time making it big and being "mainstream", which may be a good thing. But that should be the least of his concerns. If he considers himself a good artist, he should be concerned with reaching out to the people, have interesting metaphors and wordplay, and spitting knowledge that wakes people up, amongst a sh*t load of other things. I mean, versus kissing coperate ass, conforming and getting a fat paycheck and a video on MTV.

try this Girl, but she's from Paris and their music in general is different from the US. But he could be inspired.

listen to 'Pop The Glock' first and then 'Hot Chick'. I doubt it'll make a difference for you or him, but not all rap is that if you know what i mean.

and this my joke page lol.

i'm sure none of this stuff is his cup of tea, but we all get inspired from different places.

And tell him to not think to big, just go with what he believes sound right to him.

    What's his page?
