One of the reasons I unjailbroke was because of the damn app animation failure. Is it just my device?

Basically, Im running a jailbroken/appstore app, close it, and no closing animation, just BOOM -- closed. Very laggy also.

how many mobile substrate add ons do you have? It might not show because of the low resources

Huh. I had this problem when i stupidly jailbroke my first iPod touch with QuickFreedom. Worst decision of my life, it completely crashed apps for an exit, even Weather, which out of all of them is the least RAM consuming.

But you should remove some of those MobileSubstarte addons you don't use.

OP - With your device (same as mine), we have less RAM, CPU and GPU power then the other latest-gen devices, and our iPods can't handle the added stress of closing apps while still looking pretty. My suggestions: Remove Winterboard and Backgrounder - your iPod will be as fast as the day you bought it.

I rejailbroke some time ago, and it was crap fast. Until I had the urge to have a custom wallpaper. I only hope Apple's method in OS4 (once the iPod touch OS4 is jailbroken and native wallpaper is enabled) will be faster.

Oh, and since I have backgrounder installed only to background apps like settings and photos, it didn't slow things down a bit.

Gf, custom wallpaper makes the device laggy on iOS4 older iDevices.
