If you want to try out Android before putting it on the iPod Touch/iPhone then you might want to use this guide to get a Virtual Machine of Android running.

    Requirements:
    Download and install VirtualBox: http://www.virtualbox.org/
    Download Live-Android CD: http://code.google.com/p/live-android/
That you have some time to do this

    1. Start VirtualBox and press the New button at the top

    2. Go through setup
    2a. Name your VM
2b. Make the OS Linux and the version Linux 2.6
2c. Give it as much ram as you want
2d. uncheck Boot Hard Disk and click next
2e. a window will come up press Continue
    2f.Click on Finish

    3. Open the Virtual Machine you just made

4.Go through the First Run Wizard
4a. When it says select installation media click on the folder
4b. Click on add in the top left corner
4c. Find your Live-android cd and select double-click it
    4d. click next then finish

(Must use this step if your not using a tablet)Optional 1. Highlight your virtual machine and go to settings
    5a.Go to the system tab
5b. Uncheck Enable absolute pointing device

    5. Select what resolution you want (youll get this prompt on each boot-up)

    6. You'll see some scrolling text then the android sign. You'll be presented with the Android OS

    7. Enjoy!

Great idea, posting a guide for this. I've had an Android VM running on my desktop for a long time, though. Kinda fun to mess around with.
