    well at least you can do it right on the phone
    and they probably won't play stupid games and plug the holes

    I use Gmail and Google search on the iPhone and that required no jailbreaking? I can see Google joining the cat and mouse game in the future

    Apparently, in the Smart Device market, it does. Nearly all devices that come out try to compete/kill the iPhone. Which is a good thing. There are some quite good devices out there. Heck, the Android OS was made to go against the iPhone OS. And then theres Symbian going Open.

    ^ As we are talking about a first jailbreak for G1 I think it has a huge involvement with the iPhone. The iPhone went through the same processes therefore makes the phones even more similar
