I just got a new Samsung Galaxy Spica, running some form of Android, not sure which.
Anyway, I have no idea what it can do, so who knows what are the best bits about android?
And who can explain rooting? thanks

Actually, since you have the Spica, I recommend you look up the Samdroid community/forum. They have a great group of people there that will help with all your questions. Really smart group of developers as well, as they recently released a multitouch driver and are soon to be releasing a hardware accelerated graphics driver for the device.

Rooting is essentially jailbreaking. You "root" to get superuser access which is basically just enabling Administrator account on your device.

.... On topic, Samdroid is amazing, when I had my moment the guys at SDX-Developers ported a lot of their stuff to the (Basically an upgraded Spica) Moment.

Same here. The new overclocked kernel is crazy.
