This is a discussion thread for the "Android and Samsung Remain at Top of Smartphone Industry" story posted on the front page.
What's with Nokia? You barely hear anything about them, but they sold 82 million mobile devices in the 3rd quarter!
Actually, I think it'll go the other way around. Eventually, sh*tty smartphones will replace dumbphones. When that happens, say goodbye to a good chunk of Nokia's sales.
I'd like to see the android smartphone vs iPhone. I'm sure Android will be more still. But this statistic is kinda wrong since they are taking dumbphones into account. But who honestly cares? There is a place for iPhones and Android phones.
I doubt dumbphones would drastically impact it though because a lot of people are switching to smartphones now compared to the past where there were a lot more people using dumbphones.
Umm...no. I'd say the majority does not have a smartphone because of the ever-increasing rates behind data plans. Specific example: Even my brother-in-law who works for Apple in Cupertino still uses a dumbphone.
