So my friend asked me to put some music on his ipod for him because his library was lacking and wanted my music, so of course, no problem, i told him i'd help him out. When i plugged in his ipod it gave me the connect to Itunes logo with the USB cord and the ITunes symbol, so i didn't really question why it need restored, but when i clicked restore i got a message that said this:

"The Ipod software update server could not be contacted
Make sure your network settings are correct and you network connection is active or try again later "

It is not letting me restore his 2nd Gen. Ipod touch on my computer, I've tried the R's but since the problem is occurring on what is usually that last resort to fix an ipod touch, I'm out of options. Is this something simple in the settings or is this something more, because my network connection is fine and i continue to get this message...

Any help would be greatly appreciated by me, but even more so by my friend, seeing as i have now left him with nothing to play music on.
