An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly

    I just tried to upgrade to firmware 3.0 but for some reason i dident work

    I get this error when i plug my ipod in

    The bad news is there is no image what so eva on the ipod

    what state is the ipod in?
    is it stuck on the apple logo?
    is it stuck on the itunes and usb 'connect to itunes' screen?

    Non of them its just got a black screen and it dosent respond when i prees any of the buttons on it

    Try holding the home and power with it disconnected.
    If nothing happens after 10 seconds of doing that, DFU restore.

    i just get the same error in itunes

    Same with mine only mine is just stuck in the restore menu but my itouch is fine i can add to it like i just added transformers2 da other day still in restore mode but i get the the cannot verify ipod

    ye i had the same problem to start of with so i upgraded to version 3.0 thinking it would fix it and now its f***ed

    Do any other programs like redsn0w work or is it only iTunes? Just google the error message though, that always helps me solve my problems!

    I cant use redsn0w because i cant tell if the ipod is on or off, and nothing that helps comes up on google
