My IPT MC 3.1.2 is jailbroken, but I would like to have it untethered.

Am I able to run spirit while I have my current setup? Or do I have to upgrade/restore?

Well you can upgrade and then use spirit. Since you will lose your jailbreak but not your data, and then you can just run Spirit.

It needs a Restored or Upgraded iPod or iPhone... but if you jailbroke using blackra1n, you're better off restoring instead of upgrading due to some known kernel issues that result from the blackra1n jailbreak combined with Spirit.

So if I upgrade to 3.1.3, I lose all my JB apps, but not my music or pictures or other apps?

So if I backup all my cydia apps and I upgrade, then run spirit and then restore my cydia apps, it will be ok?

If you upgrade to 3.1.3 and used PkgBackup or AppBackup, you can reinstall all of your Cydia apps easily.

I recommend using AppBackup to backup saves and AptBackup to backup apps downloaded from Cydia.

When you've backed them up, you gotta SSH the files out, then after the JB, you gotta SSH them back in.
