Ambient light sensor not working?

    i have an ipod touch 2g and my ambient light sensor dosnt work, if i cover it nothing happens and i have auto brightness turned on and my brightness level half way, does anyone know what is happening

    Did you try putting it to 100% brightness? Then switch auto brightness off. It brightens up a little. Then try to turn auto brightness on while covering the sensor. Did you experience any change in the brightness? If you have, that means your sensor works..

    did u try restarting your ipod (hold both sleep button and home button for 5 seconds) until it restarts

    Just because you cover it and it doesn't change, doesn't mean it doesn't work. It doesn't seem to refresh often and the changes are subtle and sometimes unnoticeable.

    That's why I would test it at full brightness.
    I noticed itbwas working when I was going home and scrolling at music albums(landscape mode thngy I don't know what it's called). And my thumb covered the light sensory thingy. And it kinda like brighten up a little. The iPod was set at 100% brightness and autobrightness was on.

    none of the ideas work, i have a very bright light and it dosnt work would i be able to send it back? i have an enggraving

    i dont use that "feature" doesnt even do anything

    It should change more often than that. Mine changes everytime a page loads (like when I start or close an App) if the lighting in the room is different.
