I don't understand why Vista gets such a bad rap. Compared to XP, it's more refined and stable [or at least in my eyes]. The GUI is impressive and intuitive, my apps work fine, if not better than they did on XP. FireFox loads faster, the bootup + shutdown time is impressive, and I haven't gotten Spyware, Malware, or Viruses. My only complaint is the frequent "ALLOW, DO NOT ALLOW" popups whenever I want to start a certain program or two. Also, I've only gotten a BSOD once, when I foolishly downloaded a RAM-identifying app made only for 2000/XP.

I've also never hit lag. EVER.

My Specs, for those who are interested:
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium [64-Bit]
HDD: 500GB Serial ATA [7200 RPM]
    CD: LG Blu-Ray Drive/Burner Combo [6X for Blu-Rays, 16X for DVDs, 24X for CD's]
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU [Q660, 2.4GHz]
    RAM: 4.00GB [Dual Channel DDR2 800MHz]
    GFX: NVidia GeForce 9500GT [1GB, 550MHz]
    MONITOR: Dell E207WFP [20'', 1680x1050, Widescreen, HDMI]

Well you have specs that would run Vista easily :/

And most of the stability issues were before SP1 came out, although people still say Vista sucks because of it.

I'm perfectly fine with Vista. You have to remember that most people automatically don't like it because their friends talk trash about it. You know... the bandwagon effect.

I like vista, especially the visuals, except its a huge ram hogger, sucks for gaming, always freezes, and has tons of compatability issues

The majority of Vista-haters have never even tried it for themselves, they just hear others trashing it and automatically join in. I love my Vista machine. The visuals are a dramatic improvement over XP and it just runs smoothly for me. As with you, the only problems I've encountered resulted from my own stupidity, not a flaw in Vista.

Yeah I like vista, visually for sure, under that I cant tell the difference between it and XP

Also you can turn of the annoying thing that asks about everything, go to control panel and then users and then UAC (user account control) and turn it off.

Also, Aero never lags, and games never lag as well. I play Oblivion with max settings, and It doesn't lag a bit.
