Well, I recently picked up an iPod Touch (2G) and now I'm in the hunt for a good case. I want one that can slide in and out of my pocket, so rubber is out of the question. So it is between silicon and aluminum. I am looking for one that is very tight, thin, black, and cheap.

    Any recommendations?

aluminum will scratch bad, like the one at the top of the page in the ad. It looks great but Iv already seen scratches on a friends in under a week.

And I've never had good luck with silicon sliding in anywhere...it's kinda sticky or high friction and collects small pieces of debris that look crappy.
I got a http://tinyurl.com/cwff2t which I really like. It's not too thick, hard plastic, and has a stand that I use all the time to watch video while on my lunch breaks.

I agree with OCP, the aluminum will scratch badly.

Try the RebelTouch, slides in and out easily and gives good grip.
