OK, I'll be getting a new laptop soon, and was thinking about the macbook...

My budget is a bit low (<$1700 AUD, 1200-300 USD I think), and the aluminium macbook is a bit too expensive, so I was wondering if there really was that much difference between DDR2 ram and DDR3 ram?

You can also easily upgrade the hard drive too. In addition, the aluminum macbook's screen is a lot more vibrant then the polycarb. macbook screen.

    Get the new one.
The upgraded multi-touch alone is worth it.
And the aluminum gets less dirty.
    And the RAM is better.
    It's just nicer.

It is much nicer. Also probably more durable due to the fact that it is a Aluminum and not Hard Plastic.

Also, the white one just looks old now. Do yourself a favor, and don't get something old and lame.

You'll dig having the aluminum one for its other features too.
