I don't use winSCP nor SSH because I don't have wi-fi so I use the T-PoT plugin for the Total Commander... It's very useful for me

To clarify, WinSCP uses the SSH protocol to browse the iPod filesystem.

It depends what you want to do with it, what is wrong with WinSCP?

I think that CuteFTP also allows you to do the same, but maybe it has the same issues as WinSCP - the Wi-Fi connection is not as steady as a cable and the iPod likes to save energy, so sometimes you have to try several times before connecting successfully, especially with OpenSSH instead of the jailbreak SSH (at least that's my experience).

as Mircix said, you can use the T-PoT plug-in to transfer files (link is in my sig), but make sure to read the limitations: you won't be able to change file permission flags.

There are also some tools on the iPod itself, like MobileFinder, the VT100 terminal and others, that may let you do the same operations from the device itself.

You can store sessions with WinSCP, if you do that you don't have to enter the IP, login or password anymore.
