Restore to stock 2.2.1, update to 3.0, Jailbreak.

DFU mode then click shift+restore(NOT UPDATE) in iTunes fw 2.2.1
    ------------------double post merged------------------
    after that,update to 3.0;jailbreak with redsn0w 0.7.2 or 0.8

    on 2.2.1?

Hold down Home and Sleep/Wake for 10 sec
release Sleep/Wake and keep holding down the Home
Itunes should say it has found an ipod in recovery mode

    Can't you just DFU > Restore 3.0 > Jailbreak?
