alpha to image?I use GIMP to edit icons.images. Its great, but theres one thing I always am looking for. Is there a way to take an image and change its opacity? not something I make, but a picture

EG: Im making an icon and see a logo I want on it, but I want the background Ive set to show through the image a little. is there a way I can coyp the image to my work in progress, and then change the opacity of the image to my liking?

Ok, so if i get your question:
go to the layers dialog, and there is a bar right under a drop down menu, menu=mode, bar=opacity, mess around with the bar. 100 is totaly visiable 0- is invisiable.

    Sorry about spelling, I'm rushing.
