    Hi,

I completely new at everything, so I really have no clue what Im doing.

But what I did was use Touch free to jalibreak my iPod Touch.

    Then I installed Summerboard.

The dock was at the top, so I followed these inctructions:

    http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2149

It worked, the dock was back at the bottom.

But SMBPrefs wouldnt open up. It would open, but the app would freeze before any words could load. Then it would crash back to Home after 10 seconds.

I loaded up other stuff, like iPhone apps and stuff.

Same thing with all of those:

App would open, but would freeze after loading its background image. Crash back to home after 10 seconds. Home Button was unresponsive.

I was using WinSCP, and when i changed the permissions, it changed EVERY files permissions to 0755. Was that a bad thing? Someone please let me know what to do. Everything else works: Music, Safari, Calendar with Tweak to Add/edit, etc.

    Installer works though.

But all new apps just freeze up, then crash.

    What do i do?

Just so everyone knows, I solved the problem. All the permissions were set to 0755, but I did not know i was supposed to check the box "Apply permission recursively" when I did this.

How was i supposed to know?

Hope this helps others who need it.

good work, you need recursive permissions or only the containers are set, while the contents remain unchanged.

FYI, you can download MobileFinder.app and modify permissions directly on the ipod with a nice interface with it.
