Hello all, i have an iPod touch 2G, 8 GB, and everything was OK till an hour ago, all i did was to connect it to iTunes and when the sync was over, all the data was orange "other data" except the pictures and the apps! When i try to see the music on the iPod it says no music and no movies but the iPod's full. Is there any way to recover it to the previous state? I really don't wanna restore it- please help. Thanks.

oh yea. thats right. you can go find the itunes_control folder and delete everything. then you just have to resync stuff back on

You could delete the folder called "iTunes_Control" from /var/mobile/Media, then resync with iTunes. That'll delete all of your iTunes-synced files that are for some reason categorized as "Other". Once you resync all of your media back to your iPod, it should be categorized correctly again. This is the only way I can think of without restoring.

Keep in mind this will ONLY delete music, videos, and photos. All of your other data (programs, etc) will be intact. And also, once you sync everything back in iTunes, everything will be perfect again.

Edit: Damn, HotBrownies beat me to it. But my post was more informational anyway

Oh, I didn't even notice that. You should be able to delete iTunes_Control from the Media folder without jailbreaking by using DiskAid or a Windows equivalent (since it gives you access to /var/mobile/Media).

OK, I used DiskAid, and deleted iTunes_Control and now only the music and the movies are gone. Still i wish they hadn't since i copy everything manually

Happened to me a few days ago. Restore in iTunes worked and resolved the issue. Would like to know why it happens though, anyone?
