it is set to sync selected applications.
when itunes tries to sync AIM to my ipod a pop will come up sayn:
"The application was not installed on Mikes Ipod because an unknown error occured"
Keep in mind my ipod has been jailbroken
I am no to suuure but I think there is an alternate method of installing AIM but have no idea what it is...

Uhh are you on 1.1.x? I don't think you're that un-educated in this field but if you are; you have to be on 2.x firmware in order to install applications.

i was trying to transfer AIM off itunes (my computer) to my ipod.
for some reason there was an unknown error while synching.
i was able to get around it by downloading it again via my ipods app store ...
