Recently, my hard drive fried and we had to get a replacement. I lost all my files and music on my computer, however, everything is still on my ipod. is there any way to transfer those music files and podcasts back into my itunes. With other ipods, since there was a disk mode, there use to be a simple method, but that method no longer works. Is there a software that will do the trick? I've heard people say sharepod, but will that work for the 2nd generation iPod Touch. THANKS !

You can use SSH, if you have a jailbroken ipod touch, but on your device it says you just have a regular.

    Download diskaid.
Go to /var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/Music/ and you should see a bunch of folders that are like F38 or something.
Copy the whole music folder to your computer.
Control-O the folder in iTunes, cmd-o on a mac.
    Bam.
    It should start importing.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong on the directory.

well since most of the software designed for music extraction from ipod were not for the ipod touch, do you think using them could potentially lead to damaged ipod or computer or a loss in music quality?

DiskAid was designed for iPod Touch.
    No loss in audio quality.
No damage to iPod or computer.

    Yeah, DiskAid is pretty good.
SSH is just as easy though.

just out of curiosity, how exactly is "/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/Music/" accessed?
