Seems like that phone is failing. I remember they sold the kin for like $0.01 on Amazon before it's death

No this is just deals and stuff, it is usual for Android phones.

Most people that I know would rather have an iPhone, because it's an iPhone. I don't see this being too much of a threat, but it could gain popularity. Who knows.

I'm pretty sure it isn't failing. At all.

Of course it is a threat. It is similar to what happened to Apple with the personal computer. They had a headstart, the headstart was revolutionary, they sold a lot of products, but they failed to continue to revolutionize their products at a pace that had them stay with the competition.

Yes, the iPhone continues to be a beautiful, amazing, (dare I say magical?) piece of hardware and software, but they need to be careful about just releasing one big update per year.

but then again, we are entering the hardware competition years. Smartphone operating systems are all fairly equal now. I think that the hardware, for better or worse, will be the biggest point of competition for at least a year.

But hey. An iPhone on Verizon =

DROID line. So hopefully they'll play it smart.

I never buy phones on contracts, I always buy them sim free.

I bought my iPhone 4 for £480 and I bought my Samsung Galaxy S for £400

As for failing..no this device is actually doing well. Its gone down probably to get a bigger market share. It's like them Free Galaxy S's they wee giving away in the UK to people disappointed with the iPhone 4.

A free phone on contract used to be the norm anyways (in the Uk) until the iPhone came out, I think you Americans are just used to paying more for phones that are on networks you don't like :/
