Mine had hers at around 4 or 5 and iPhone at 6. It's great for when we are on the road or flying back between here and Europe. Load it up with stories, music, and movies and life is good.

Well i would think 10 or 11 should start. But if shes into videos and music and she is responsible, then you could get it for her anytime. But get a warranty incase she breaks it by mistake.

Pretty much the biggest point right there.
Just get the iPod some protection, and you'll be okay.

Also use the restriction features on it if necessary, to prevent her from accessing the iTunes store, or App store, or whatever else it blocks.

I wish my parents would've gotten me something cool like that when I was 7.. or even bought me my iPod now, lol.

7-8 is definetly too young. I think like 12-13 is good. first off its 200+ dollars for a 7 year old. and thats kinda overdoing it. you shouldn't give kids all the crap that they want it can give them the wrong idea.

You can always use the parietal restrictions.

wtf age limit for a ipod? you people are horrible. just get the kid an ipod touch unless you got financial issues, then tell the kid to f**k off. unless there your kid. then just say no.
