Hey guys, so today, I updated my firmware to 3.1.3 to use the spirit jailbreak, everything went smooth, and I was lovin it. Then I downloaded a theme called "Duct Tape" and now my ipod won't even turn on.

When I try to turn it on, it would freeze and the apple logo, and the little loading circle would come up and also freeze. If I try to restore it, I get the error # 1611. I've tried everything on the internet at least 2 times, and nothing but a frozen ipod.

Can anybody help me with this?

    Thanks,
    TsterT

It's still not working. I have an iPod Touch 2G MC Model 3.1.3 jailbroken with spirit.

When I try your method, I still get the 1611 error, then it goes back to recovery mode after a couple minutes.

Right now it's just frozen in the black screen with back light.

    EDIT:
After I installed libUSB, none of my USB devices (keyboard, mouse, ect...) wouldn't be recognized, so I had to restore my computer to a previous point (yesterday) and now when I try to restore, I get an unknown error.

Also, is it possible to edit my ipod's files from my computer without having SSH installed on my ipod?

This happened to my friend when I jailbroke his iPod. Try DFU mode. Luckily his iPod was recognized.

When I go into recovery mode or DFU mode, my iPod is recognized by itunes, but when I restore it, or try to restore it, I get either error 1611, or unknown error. I have tried nearly everything I could find, from a simple restart of the iPod, to changing all my drivers on my computer. Nothing worked.

I don't understand why people install that Duct Tape theme. I jailbroke my iPod only for the Illumine theme. Thats the only theme worth using. Most of the other themes are poorly designed.

And your problem, try DFU + Restore.

As I said before, it doesn't work.

When I try to open it, it says I don't have the drivers for the iPod, when I do.
