So I bought the Applications Update and today I did the jailbreak. Now iTunes says it can't install the Applications Update. Is this a common problem?

It says an unknown error occurred (0xE8000001). Does anyone have any more info on that?

i am also in that club. its because its iphone firmware not ipod. if you get the error your going to have to wait for the actual touch jailbreak.

perhaps its because you bought it BEFORE you jalibroke.

I jailbroke and THEN bought and they synced right then and there.

im not a genius, butt i see the pattern developing.

sorry. trust me, i feel for you. id be DYING right now if i jailbroke and couldnt get my mail app. damn i use that thing all the time.

So... what do we do now? Wait till they release the jailbreak for iPod Touch? Which is probably just a few days away right?

Maybe, maybe not. The jailbreak wasn't officially supposed to be released, and the guy probably only had iPhone software/it wasn't ported to the iPod yet.

It could be hours, days or weeks away from launch. I'm guessing you'll have to wait or go through the process again.

Ok I repeted the process this time however I tried manually downloading the 1.1.3 ipot fw and giving to iphuc to patch and then aplied the 1.1.3 soft upgrade.

My ipot got stuck and i had to reset it after the installation. It booted to 1.1.3 but sync still didn't work.

I gues we have to wait!

So basically I've went through many many restores, hours of waiting, cannot run hardly any apps on the jb 1.1.3 and lost the apps I paid for. Sounds great. Why can't it be easy.

If your touch was upgraded from 1.1.1jb, try upgrade it from 1.1.2jb, or vice versa.

Anyone knows where iTunes for Mac stores you back up iPod settings?
