As I live in the UK I thought £500 for an iPhone was RIDICULOUSLY expensive. But I was down town today and seen a contract for £25 a month for 2 years and then £299 for the actual phone. But I have seen loads of complaints that when they drop their iphone from as much as 20cm it breaks

? My brother has a 3GS and his screen has been cracked twice due to small falls. And before anyone says 'just be careful, don't drop it'... I'm not perfect lol.

So how do you guy's keep your's safe?

Simply, don't drop it. If you have an expensive phone without a case you fail epically

Get a decent case, and you'll be fine... as long as you don't drop it! But seriously, if you drop it lots of times you don't deserve it anyway.

    You know that 25 GBP x 24 Months = 600GBP + 299 GBP price of the Phone?
It is cheaper to buy the 500 GBP one. And yeah, just buy an Otterbox and it should be safe.

You can't just say don't drop it, if you're paying that much for a phone you expect it to survive almost anything, not shatter when you drop it once.

Exactly! That's what I mean, I wouldn't like to pay over £800 for it for, and there be a possibility that it would shatter straight away. Why don't apple invest in stronger materials.

Tux2gs, yeah I realise that but if I pay £500 for the phone then I still have to pay £15 a month for me to receive text messages and Internet. And then next year I can sell this iPhone in order to buy the next generation hopefully.

I have dropped mine from about 1 meter high onto the road outside.. yes it damaged 1 of the corners of the silver bit but didn't damage the glass bits at all... its perfectly fine. So I wouldn't be scared of dropping it.

That was really bad advice. The angle it lands on, the surface it is dropped onto and the height all affect the damage. Don't make large and dangerous generalisations.
