Hi Everyone, been having a good read of the forums and I'm very confused, I want to jailbreak my touch 2G but I'm really stuck on loads of things

For a start, what is UNTETHERED and TETHERED

If I jailbreak my touch 2G do i loose any of the original features, such as itunes and default apple music player, also am I still able to update my ipod via itunes once it's be jail broken?

I really don't know which guide does what, im so lost on here, my firmware says 2.2 (5G77a)

I'm using Windows XP, I don't want to just jump in and fuk it up.

I'm grateful of any links for doing this and a simple guide please for all the above.

    Cheers

    Pete

BASICLY: Untethered means u can turn it off and back on, tethered means if u turn it off you can only turn it back on from a computer, a calculator or a nitrokey thing. if jailbreak, you wont lose any features or anything. Use quickfreedom, its stickied. dont wrry about fuking up ur ipod, thats pretty hard to do.

Ok you will not lose any original apps you will gain 1 or 2, depending on preference. These are Cydia and Installer and they are like app stores 10 times better.

before untethered there was tethered and that meant that you had to hook your ipod up to a computer to boot. Now we have untethered which allows you to boot up anywhere.

Windows Xp has better jailbreaking tools but you will need to update your ipod to 2.2.1 with Itunes. You can jailbreak with Quickfreedom (3rd Party) though there have been problems. I think though u can always restore with DFU mode if anything goes wrong. Or you can wait for the official Quickpwn release by the dev team (http://blog.iphone-dev.org/) and it will be easy and flawless
