is there a way to do this? iTunes on my computer keeps locking up when I try to sync and its a system problem that I would rather work around than fix.

Well it would be wonderful if someone had a confirmed way of doing it..but I don't mind testing this out. Where do I find that folder again?

I don't think this will work. iTunes encrypts the music file that's why the file names get changed to random letters. besides, this will mess up your iTunesdb file and I dunno what effect it will have once you sync your iPod with iTunes.

install islsk and put your music files into the islsk downloads directory

put your video files anywhere and use avplayer to play them
