The title is pretty self explanatory but I'll repeat it. How do you add icons to a winterboard theme already in a .theme file??? I made some more icons for some jailbroken apps for the Alit theme by adrrx (like gb4iphone) but I don't know how to add them to it... Also I'm using a mac if that helps to know...OK well please return with some feedback as soon as you can!

Right click .theme file, select Show Package Contents, and drop the icon in the "Icons" Folder. Or you could upload the theme to the iPod, then upload the icon to there.

Yes. It's just a folder, no special extension. You actually don't need the ".theme," just a folder with the correct setup for WinterBoard will work fine.
